Star Tulip

(Calochortus subalpinus)

Common names: Mariposa Lily

Healing With Feminine

Indications: Helps you reconnect to your inner feminine & sensitive, receptive self.

Growing with gentle receptive grace on a south-facing sub-alpine slope of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the Star Tulip assists you in overcoming blockages to your inner Divine-femine nature. The flower essence communicates when you feel disassociated from your feminine instincts... often because of pursuits in the physical world that have required your more masculine qualities to dominate.... or because you find yourself alienated from your true feminine due to stress, trauma or a rocky transitional stage and are having trouble reconnection or orienting back to your more empathetic , receptive self. All souls embody both masculine and feminine qualities and you must learn to develop and foster both for balance in your physical and spiritual life on Earth.

The flower essence of Star Tulip is especially beneficial if your heart has become hardened and unfeeling…  or you reject or act hostile towards mothering instincts and caring feminine pursuits,  projecting an acid insensitivity towards life and an inability to experience your own soft side and spiritual consciousness.

The Star Tulip flower essence also embraces transitional periods such as menopause, when a woman’s confusion around self-identity – due to loss of reproductive abilities, changing roles and hormonal shifts –
can give rise to conflicting emotions around her sexual and feminine nature. A changed perception of self due to weight gain and/or other body-image changes can discourage and dis-empower one’s connection to one’s woman-self.

This beautiful flower works to open up the receptive qualities of the heart, offering healing like mother’s milk to nurture wounds and states of alienation from the spirit world and spirit self. Cultivating a balance with your sacred feminine, helping you to yield to experience, to absorb lessons gracefully to value nurturing, procreative qualities in both self and others. This return to the intuitive, listening, sensing, responsive, nurturing self orients its mothering, caring energy towards plants, animals, family, community and self, allowing the full wisdom and strength of the feminine self to shine.

The Star Tulip, beautiful and sparkling with dew, opens to the morning sky. Gathering in the mysteries of the Universe, she offers compassion and strength to those who choose to embody the joy and the mystery of their deep feminine well.

Star Tulip is native to the western United States. The flower’s three petals and six stamen help identify it as a member of the lily family. It is nicknamed Cat’s Ears because the hairy petals of the flowers are reminiscent of the soft inside of a cat’s ear.
