My daughter Haniel spent the good part of an afternoon quietly working in an ancient growth forest of cedar & pine next to the ocean on the Olympic Peninsula of
Washington. She was making a house for a little squirrel she had befriended. She built shelves & a bed and lined the path with broken nut shells. Into the house she placed a generous mound of sliced ripe juicy pear. She left a large hole for a door, and the next morning was sad to announce the house had not been visited during the night, even though a blessing had been left with the offering.

After breakfast she came running to get me. A raccoon had found the offering and was happily eating away. “Come talk to him!” cried the children and I chased after  them into the woods. The raccoon was delighted with the pears and asked me to follow her into the forest. This was a slim, wild raccoon not like the fat lumbering ones we see in the city. It was clear she could travel fast when needed but she chose to move slowly, turning around frequently to see if I was following. Deep into this old growth forest where I was brought to a ring of light that could be felt and perceived as a bridge between the seen & the unseen worlds.

This is an essence that quiets your inner queries and helps you to remember your true history..... a history that once connected human beings with the intelligence of all living realms. Nature asks for a listening, a quieting of your mind’s endless lists of self-absorbed pursuits. with all the little fairies and angels that people your communities.
