Rest and Play

Very few times in my life have I experienced snow like the one we had during holidays on the north shores of Lake Michigan this winter, with over thirty inches of fresh snow and more accumulation daily! It was indeed a very white Christmas! And with the internet knocked out, there was nothing to do but to revel in all that fluffy white and retreat to a (thankfully) warm cabin to enjoy family at its best. It’s no mystery why there is so much joy and harmony within my clan. Beyond love, they have been immersed in Nature experiences and nurtured by flower essences since they were babies. There have been bumps along the road of course, but ultimately these have presented the opportunities needed for growth and deeper wisdom for all of us.
Flower essences are not subtle, they are just intangible. The changes that occur in your feelings, the subsiding of worries, the sense of courage and feelings of inner peace are the result of you engaging in the world of support offered to you by the intelligence of nature, imbued in the essence. We are a coffee culture that expects stimulating fast results that wake us up and propel us forward. But what choices do we make to use that new energy? Often we use it simply to overwork and burn ourselves out.
Essences wake up the inner consciousness and offer a balm to your pain. When I use my essence, I feel a deep inner gratitude as I feel a shift. I feel supported and able to meet the complexities of life as peace returns. Yes, it can be hard to describe, hard to define why I am feeling differently because there are literally so many things happening within. Coffee, on the other hand, gives me predictable results—energy and focus. But coffee does not address the underlying reasons for my tiredness and lack of concentration. Stress, overwork, overdoing without reflection and rest, lack of self-love that propels me to do, do, do. And although I do enjoy a nice cup of coffee and all it has to offer, if I had to choose, I would definitely choose the support offered by intelligent, self-adjusting essences.
January should be a time of rest and play. The plants and trees take their rest, and the snow covers the landscape with white, fluffy, frozen crystals giving rest to your eyes and beckoning you to go outside and play.
May you find your rest and may play find you!
Lots of love,
Merri
